Our key services that have specific relevance for HR management include:

    H.R. AUDITS
Pilot undertakes reviews of the HR function within an organisation to test for compliance with all, including the most recent, legal requirements, both for policies and procedures through to the application of best practices.

    MEETING LEGAL OBLIGATIONS
Pilot offers a range of training packages, from 2 hour workshops to full, certificated courses, which help management to address and meet the latest legislative obligations on employers, including:

  • Employee and contractor induction
  • Food hygiene practices
  • Health and safety awareness throughout the organisation
  • Workplace risk assessment and management

    EMPLOYEE SELECTION AND ASSESSMENT
Accurate assessment of potential employees' capabilities is becoming ever more vital, as organisations slim down their staffing structures and look for strong traits, such as self-reliance, leadership and initiative. At Pilot, our qualified staff are trained in current practice for the use of psychometric tests and are experienced in the application of Thomas International testing procedures. These are available to support any recruitment programme.

    INDUCTION
Standardised induction programmes, supported and reinforced by DVD presentations and tests provide both an effective and cost-efficient means of ensuring that employee and sub-contractors have received both accurate and comprehensive induction onto the organisation's premises. This is achievable without the interruption of senior staff from their normal work activities.

IDENTIFYING INDIVIDUAL AND ORGANISATIONAL TRAINING NEEDS
Matching the training needs of the individual employees with those of the employer organisation can often requires more than just a quick tick in the boxes of a checklist. At PILOT, we engage the management in a thorough review of operational activities and needs and assess the capacity of the individuals within the workforce to deliver. The gaps so identified are then addressed through training programmes which can include both management and operational staff. Psychometric tests are also used, where appropriate, to determine the capability of some individuals to absorb new roles.

The outcomes of our analysis will include action plans for the individuals concerned to fit in with the organisation's planned development.

ACHIEVING A TRAINED AND QUALIFIED WORKFORCE

    Nationally accredited courses
We deliver programmes of courses designed to assess and develop the competence of a workforce at operator level and above. These check whether the employee is capable of and is actually working to the organisation's operational instructions and nationally accepted standards.

They identify or confirm further individual training needs. Any short falls in knowledge or performance are, in all but the most extreme cases, made up during the progress of the course.

    Bespoke courses
Pilot's qualified trainers are able to develop one-off bespoke courses to meet the individual needs of an organisation. Often, these are for single topic awareness, such as Bullying, Environmental Protection Policies or Equal Opportunity Policies.

ESTABLISHING ONGOING CAPABILITIES for WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
We provide assistance in establishing an effective, on-going training capability in house, with training for relevant staff to become qualified in delivering courses appropriate to the organisation.

This is supported with the availability of our moving image technology for the production of cost effective training modules. This medium is ideally suited to process training, where reduced speed film can give immediate clear understanding of a complex process.
