This enables you or your employer to custom build a qualification focusing on the key areas of first line management that are most relevant to the demands of a specific role, industry or organisation. AIMS OF THE COURSES
The Award is a concise qualification designed to give learners a basic knowledge of the various roles, functions and responsibilities of a team leader and the limits of their authority and accountability. The Certificate builds and broadens the skills and knowledge gained in the Award. It is a broad ranging investigation of team leading skills and knowledge for both practising and potential team leaders and supervisors. COURSE CONTENTS
The Award consists of a mandatory unit: 'Developing yourself as a team leader', plus additional work to be selected from a short list of options. This provides a good starting point for team/cell leaders who are new to their roles or for aspiring leaders who wish to gain a solid understanding of the principles and practicalities of team leading. All topics completed for this course can be credited towards the full Certificate in Team Leading. The Certificate includes mandatory work which explores practical techniques in motivating teams, plus planning and monitoring work and a mini-project. Further work is selected from a wide range of options. Both Courses cover the exploration of a range of fundamental team leading disciplines. The knowledge element required to achieve the qualification is delivered through a series of Work-shops arranged as appropriate at the workplace. This and the work on the mini-project will be supported by a series of trainer visits to the Candidate’s workplace, spread throughout the Course programme. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
COURSE ASSESSMENT:Qualification is achieved by satisfactory reflective review plus, depending on the optional topics selected, a combination of: reflective reviews, oral briefings, case studies, short answer questions, work-based assignments or centre-devised alternatives.
