  • Notice re. Accredited Courses

The details of all nationally accredited adult training courses are currently being revised so that they comply with new national Regulations introduced in 2010 to apply from 1st. Jan.2011 - the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF).

This reworking of courses is being undertaken by the Awarding Bodies that design the courses to meet national standards and award the qualifications for their successful completion. This additional work would appear to be a tremendous burden on these organisations as they seek to revise and update all their courses to meet the new requirements and stipulated timelines.

We are currently delivering many of the pre-QCF courses which are described here. We are therefore continuing to display the information on all the courses which we are currently delivering and are updating this to reflect the new requirements, as we integrate them for future delivery.

The revised courses will all be identified by the acronym QCF at the end of their title.

In many cases, the QCF information needed is additional, with minimal changes being made to the basic course. The course descriptions which we have retained will give a good indication of the content of many of the future QCF-compliant courses.

Please contact us if you have any uncertainty about the details of current or future courses.

Please see our "New Courses" and "FAC" sections for details of the fundamental elements of the QCF.

    Benefits of Accredited Courses
Accredited courses provide successful individual participants with a recognised qualification which remains with them as proof of their having achieved a required standard within their special area of operation. They reflect the national standards for performance within a specific industry sector and confirm a competence at skills which are transferable to other work situations.

By confirming competence in the application of an organisation's procedures, the learner's work performance and morale are often increased, leading to improvements in performance, timekeeping and safety awareness, practical proposals for operational improvements and enthusiasm for further self development.

    BENEFITS TO EMPLOYERS: The courses:

    • Improve workplace performance through reinforcing and improving current skills and attitudes to work
    • Develop practical and relevant ideas for operational improvements
    • Provide effective learning and assessment by relating directly to the work procedures of your organisation
    • Achieve a common platform of competency throughout the workforce
    • Identify employees with development potential
    • Save time by being undertaken at the place of work and being tailored to match the individual's requirements
    • Achieve results with minimal disruption to work activities
    • Help meet legal requirements for employee induction and health and safety training

BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS: The courses provide you with:

    • Recognition of your competency at work, against the industry's nationally agreed standards
    • A qualification which is yours and yours alone, which is recognised internationally
    • A qualification gained at your place of work - no requirement to attend a training establishment
    • A basis from which you can move on to further develop yourself

They are:
